Welcome to the website for Leslie Adkins, and Blue Skies Communication. Leslie teaches classes and workshops at several locations in the Northwest, including Cascadia Community College. Click here for her current schedule and course listings.

Fall Northwest Writer’s Retreat!
 Join fiction writer/instructor Christine Dubois and Leslie on Saturday, Sept. 19th
for The Northwest Writer’s Retreat, 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the
South 47 Farm in Redmond. As always, it will be a fun day of creative
writing exercises, informative workshops, and conversations with fellow
writers. Plus, you’ll have free time to wander around the farm, visit the
farmstand, the corn maze, and U-pick fields, and recharge your creative batteries. Get back to the habit of writing after all the summer fun.  Kick off fall with us!
 
Cost of the retreat is just $59 if you register by Sept. 12th, $69 after.
And for returning students (those who’ve attended a Northwest Writer’s

Write On The Sound Writers Conference and Contest
Writers of all levels interested in the craft of writing will enjoy Write on the Sound, a conference limited to 200 participants that was first developed by the Edmonds Arts Commission in 1985 to support the literary arts. The annual event features over 30 presenters, a literary contest, manuscript critiques, reception and book signing, onsite bookstore, and a variety of evening activities. Keynote at 1:15 on Saturday at the Edmonds Theater. Blake Synder is the 2009 Keynote speaker.

“Transitions” is the theme for the WOTS writing contest. Enter for the chance to explore this theme and have your work read by others. Maybe you will win a cash prize for your effort! All conference attendees are encouraged to submit an entry in fiction, non-fiction or poetry. The contest deadline is September 5th. Must be registered for the conference to participate in the contest.
